As a fan of Italian olive oil, I’d like to think that there should be more attention brought to the various types. It’s clear that you’re not going to be able to tell all of them apart from the onset, which means that there should be attention placed on certain aspects. Which oils taste the most different, for example? Which substances are utilized in order to help these natural products stand out and, as a result, make them much more recommended for the purposes of bringing food to a higher level?

What exactly makes the oil from Italy different from others, you may be wondering? You may think that its origin is all that there is to it and while it certainly stands as a factor, I do not believe that it is the only one. In fact, you may start to pick up certain tastes here and there, peppery ones being some of the most typical. The taste buds are able to pick up on a savory taste as opposed to an overly pungent one which most would associate with pepper.

In my eyes, organic oil stands as one of the more healthful types to consider but you can also notice a different taste. In comparison to the other oils I’d like to mention, this one seems to be far sweeter. This is one type of Italian olive oil worth utilizing in order to bring organics to the palate which is more than worth bringing into account.


Toscano oil is the type that derives from Tuscany, meaning that you’re not going to have to worry about it being authentic or not. This is harvested early on in the season and the reason for this is because the flavor is far richer. You want to be able to pick up on all of the possible aspects of this oil and each of the twinges come together in order to create a better product. Throw in fruity overtones and the product is made all the better.


As you can tell, there are quite a few types of Italian olive oil to consider and I believe that it is worth bringing it into your diet of choice. You want to make sure that you are living healthfully and there are many aspects to think about in this regard. Of course, this oil type is just one of them but never forget to implement it in the dishes that you make for yourself on a regular basis. You will start to see just how well its natural antioxidants can bolster your diet.
